A Historic Site for Your Special Event
As the site for your next event–a wedding or social event, conference or meeting, camps or classes–nothing can quite compare to the historic village and unspoiled vistas of rural Waterford, Virginia.
In April 2012, the Waterford Foundation–steward of this National Historic Landmark District–opened the doors to the beautifully restored Waterford Old School and elegant new auditorium that replaces a 1928 building burned in a devastating fire in January 2007. It’s the best of old and new, providing a larger, more versatile stage while keeping the intimacy and remarkable acoustics of the original hall.
The new auditorium is linked to the 1910 Greek Revival classroom building by a lovely glassed atrium. The building also features a sunny atrium area, the main assembly room, kitchen for warming and cooling, and roofed stone terrace.
The Waterford Old School and Auditorium, as well as the late nineteenth-century John Wesley Community Church, are now available for rent by private individuals and organizations for meetings and conferences, concerts and community theater, classes and camps, social occasions and celebrations.
In conjunction with your event, the Waterford Foundation is pleased to offer guided tours of the village and walks along the interpretive trail of the 144-acre Phillips Farm.
To learn more about opportunities, fees, and policies for rentals of the Waterford Old School and John Wesley Community Church or to arrange a visit, please contact the Waterford Foundation office at 540-882-3018, ext. 111, or email Margaret Good, Director of Properties and Land Use Programs, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
